Cumberland County (WVLT) - A Cumberland County Commission vote later today will determine if the school system stays open, or will be forced to close.
Commissioners are planning to meet at 8:45am EST to review and vote on the school spending plan.
If the budget is approved, it will be immediately submitted to the state in order to get state funding.
The County Commission recently approved a budget that gave schools authority to spend one million dollars less than requested.
Since the school system did not submit it's budget to the state by the first of October, the state has not sent any money.
Stay tuned to Volunteer TV News at Noon for the latest updates on the school board meeting.
