LUTTRELL, Tenn (WVLT) -- Union County Schools spokesperson Wayne Goforth confirms that tests show a Luttrell Elementary School student has viral meningitis.
Not the more serious bacterial meningitis.
As of Monday, the child was at Children's Hospital being treated.
Goforth says the child's condition is improving.
Goforth says there have been no other reported cases at the school.
Luttrell Elementary School principal Sonja Saylor says it's an older student at the school, but she declined to release what grade the student is in.
On Monday, Saylor told us teachers are reminding students to wash their hands, and she's making sure bathrooms are completely stocked with soap, and towels.
