Blount County Water Restrictions Could Be Reinstated

Blount County (WVLT) - Water flow levels in Blount County's Little River are back down to the point where water restrictions are possible.

Restrictions for Alcoa and Maryville have not been reinstated yet, but the flow rate has dropped to 40 cubic feet per second.

Restrictions are normally issued once the level reached 45.

The restrictions were lifted for the weekend following last week's rain that more than tripled the river's flow rate.

A new water pipeline should start pumping this week, but it still may not be enough to keep the restrictions away for Alcoa and Maryville.
