SUNBRIGHT, Tenn (WVLT) A Morgan County teacher is suspended without pay as he's being investigated by the school district.
Morgan County Director of Schools Mike Davis confirms that Sunbright teacher Don Hamby has been suspended without pay since Friday.
Davis would not confirm the reason for the suspension, but said it's the district's policy to suspend a teacher without pay during an investigation.
Davis says to his knowledge, a Sheriff's Department investigation is not underway.
Hamby is listed as a history teacher on the Sunbright School webpage.
Davis did say that Hamby has been a "model employee".
Davis says he expects it to be a few days before the investigation is complete.
