(WVLT) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is joining the Knoxville Police Deaprtment to create a task force on the Internet Crimes Against Children in the TBI headquarters.
The TBI's Task Force will be housed at the headquarters in Nashville, while the Tennessee Regional ICAC is at the Knoxville Police Department.
The task force is a federally funding program that investigates the sexual exploitation of children.
They will work with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to target people making and distributing child porn.
The TBI's task force is the 11th such organization set up in the state.
The others include the Morristown Police Department, the Sevier County Sheriff's Office, the Blount County Sheriff's Office, the Knox County Sheriff's Office, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, Cookeville Police Department, Franklin Police Department, Dickson County Sheriff's Office, and Sevierville Police Department.
