Knoxville (WVLT) - A man accused of killing a bride-to-be in South Knoxville will be in court next month for a preliminary hearing.
Police say 29 year-old Brian Erickson was behind the wheel of a car that hit 42 year-old Carol Yates on Mayfield Avenue earlier this month.
On Monday, prosecutors charged Erickson with second degree murder and he is now free on $75,000 bond.
Witnesses say Yates was dragged behind the vehicle.
They also say the vehicle stopped and backed over the victim.
There's no word on a motive for the crime.
Investigators believe Erickson arranged to meet Yates at her home on the day of the accident.
