ATHENS, Tenn. (AP) -- A judge has dismissed charges against a street preacher arrested after police say he hit an officer in the face with a Bible.
David Decker was charged last February with obstruction of a highway and resisting arrest.
Athens' City Police said the altercation began when an officer asked the 66-year-old to move back. He refused and was handcuffed and sprayed with pepper spray.
Decker says he was in the grassy area of the intersection and witnesses have corroborated that.
