Singer Robert Goulet Dies

LOS ANGELES (WVLT/AP) -- A spokesman for Robert Goulet says the singer has died in a Los Angeles hospital while awaiting a lung transplant.

According to his official Web site, the 73-year-old crooner was diagnosed with a form of pulmonary fibrosis that is described as a "rapidly progressive and fatal condition."

He's was being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Goulet has won acclaim for his Broadway and recording career.

Over the years, he has continued to perform onstage.
