Knoxville (WVLT) - Basketball season is definitely here and earlier Thursday night. You got a good look at the newly renovated Thompson-Boling Arena in our sports special, and beginning Friday at the Knoxville Convention Center is the "Hoop Hall Experience."
It's an interactive tour of the history of the game. Thursday, a reception was held to formally jump start the exhibit. You'll see everything from the jerseys to shoes of some of the game's most well known players, some in the Hall of Fame. It's already impressed one UT coach.
"I know the young kids in this area all the interactive things just what they'll learn about the the game of basketball. We have alot of basketball fans in east Tennessee which obviously we appreciate," Lady Vol head coach Pat Summitt said.
The Hoop Hall Experience runs for nine days.
General admission is $22 for adults, $17 for children ages 4-12 and free for children under three.
November 6th is Knoxville Kids Day. Ticket prices that day are $15 for adults, $10 for ages 4-18 and free for children under three.
