KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Knoxville man, already serving a life term in the home invasion killing of a 12-year-old boy, has been given another 20 years in prison.
A judge in Knoxville was unmoved yesterday by testimony from Jonathan Adams' mother that her son had never been in trouble before the March 2003 incident in which young Cody Thomas was killed.
Judge Kenneth Irvine ordered Adams to serve a sentence for aggravated robbery and other crimes after his murder sentence is completed. Adams must serve at least 51 years of the murder term plus the additional sentence.
Adams was the first of three suspects to be tried in the case.
