Knoxville (WVLT) – Former Knoxville Mayor and Tennessee Gubernatorial candidate Randy Tyree is nearly ready to make another run for Knox County Sheriff.
Tyree ran unsuccessfully against former sheriff Tim Hutchison last year, and earlier this year he pulled out of the race to be appointed Hutchison’s successor, the position that went to J.J. Jones.
“On a scale of one to ten, I am probably an eight,” Tyree said. “I've filed the necessary papers with the post commission to become certified as a candidate for the sheriff's race.”
Tyree has until mid-December to file papers in preparation for February's primary.
