WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- An early morning drive-by shooting in front of a Northwest DC apartment building has sent at least eleven people to area hospitals with various injuries.
Metropolitan Police are on the scene in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street. Police say someone inside an older model blue BMW fired several shots into a crowd gathered outside the building and then sped away.
According to MPD officials, two women were shot in the leg, and another woman was hit in the right arm and leg. One man was shot in the foot, another was struck in the buttocks, and a third male who is believed to be a teenager, was shot in the hand. Another man was found in a car a few blocks away with a gun shot wound to the back. Police say he suffered significant blood loss but had strong vitals when he was transported to the hospital. All eleven victims are said to be stable.
Right now police are searching for the blue BMW, and a light gray or silver sedan. There is no information available on the suspect vehicle's tags.
