CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- After a rash of appliance thefts from construction sites, one Clarksville contractor decided to take action.
Jeff Choate, owner of True Value Construction, bought several GPS units and placed them on appliances. The global positioning system technology uses satellites to pinpoint a location.
The appliances were stolen that same night but police were able to track down the units almost immediately with the help of Austin Peay State University's Global Information System team.
Police found 12 appliances and arrested Zebediah and Joseph Baggett and David Miller.
Each is charged with three counts of burglary and they could face more charges.
