UPDATED: Three Arrested in Morristown Robberies

Michael L. Thompson, 37, is currently charged with two counts of aggravated robbery in connection with a string of robberies in Morristown.

MORRISTOWN, Tenn (WVLT) -- Police have arrested three in connection with a rash of armed robberies over the weekend in Morristown.

Morristown Police spokesperson Bonnie Langdon confirms officers arrested Michael L. Thompson, 37, after a traffic stop Monday night.

He faces two counts of aggravated robbery, and one count of criminal responsibility for another in connection with a third incident.

Thompson also faces outstanding warrants for theft and vandalism.

Langdon says officers also arrested, Charles E. Locke, 24, of Morristown, and Leslie S. Samsel, 31, of Rutledge, this morning.

Locke is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.

He's in the Hamblen County Jail under $150,000 bond.

Leslie S. Samsel is charged with two counts of criminal responsibility for another in connection with two aggravated robberies.

She is in the Hamblen County Jail under $100,000 bond.

Morristown Police Chief Roger Overholt says 6 people were robbed over the weekend the three suspects.
