World Series of Poker Winner Arrested for Gambling in E Tennessee

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- The 2005 Seniors Division winner of the World Series of Poker was one of 16 people arrested during a gambling raid of a poker event yielding almost $20,000.

Paul "Cigar" McKinney of Weber City, Virginia, was among those arrested after police received a tip from a citizen. The 82-year-old won the World Series of Poker seniors event two years ago in Las Vegas, taking home $203,000.

Both McKinney and Donnie Godsey of Church Hill were charged with aggravated gambling promotion for allegedly organizing and promoting the event.

Cash, playing cards and poker chips were seized, as well as betting slips for college and professional football games.
