Knoxville Bank Robbed; Cops Searching for Suspect

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Authorities in Knox County are searching for a bank robber.

Around 9:30 a.m. Friday, a man robbed the BB&T Bank at Northshore Drive and Morrell Road.

They say he went into the bank, handed the teller a note claiming to have a gun and demanded money.

A gun was never seen.

He's described as white, 5'9-10'', weighing 175-185 lbs, with dirty blonde-reddish hair and in his mid to late 20s.

He was wearing black sunglasses, a white hat, a navy shirt, and black pants. A surveillance picture is posted above.

Police say he had electrical tape on one finger, and was carrying a briefcase.

He may be driving a late-model Mazda car.
