Bomb Squad Dispatched to Blount Co. to Dispose of Dynamite

MARYVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The Knox County Bomb Squad is headed to Blount County to help dispose of some old sticks of dynamite.

Blount County Sheriff's department spokesperson Marian O'Briant says a resident found the old dynamite sticks on his property off Indian Warpath Road near Mint Road.

O'Briant says the man had forgotton about the dynamite until he found it today.

She says the sticks of dynamite are around 20 years old.

O'Briant says it's standard procedure to call the bomb squad in to procure and dispose of the dynamite.
