(WVLT) - A cold front moving across the Northern Plains is expected to arrive in East Tennessee later this afternoon bringing with it the potential for strong storms.

Volunteer TV Meteorologist Craig Edwards says "A strong cold front advancing towards East Tennessee promises to generate afternoon and evening thunderstorms."

Edwards also says "Some of these storms could possibly become severe with damaging winds and hail."

"This system could also bring up to an inch of snow to altitudes above 2500 feet by Thursday Night." said Edwards.
