SURGOINSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Hawkins County Sheriff's officials are investigating the discovery of human remains after a mobile home burned near Surgionsville.
Firefighters were told early Saturday no one was in the trailer, but the family of a man reported him missing that evening and officials again searched the debris, where they found one body.
Sheriff Roger Christian didn't release names yesterday and says there's no immediate way to determine if the remains found at the fire scene are those of the man reported missing.
Hawkins County EMA Director Gary Murrell says the owner of the home said his grandson and another person had been staying there. The grandson reportedly told investigators he thought his companion had escaped with him.
