Knoxville (WVLT) -- Here we are on Thanksgiving Eve, hurrying to get to our destination, picking up those last-minute groceries and hoping for a great meal.
But have you paused for just a blink to think about what you're thankful for?
Volunteer TV's Jim Freeman was out and about today talking to East Tennesseans.
From jobs to Jesus and family to friends, he found that the responses top that question were varied but certainly sincere.
Here are examples of what many are thankful for as Easter rolls around.
"I'm thankful for my health, family."
"I'm thankful for my friends and family. What else? My daughter most of all."
"And these little grandchildren make it all worth while. So we have so many blessings, so many things to be thankful for and living in America and be free."
"Oh, lots of things, our health, our families, jobs we have, thankful for Jesus Christ."
"We're thankful to live in such a wonderful country and to have access to wonderful things that we need and great food that we're going to eat this Thanksgiving."
“Well, if you look around here, this is what I’m thankful for a healthy family. Yep, we've got a lot to be thankful for."
"I am thankful for my family, and my friends, and my fiancée`."
"We in America have a lot to be thankful for, and it all starts out at home, our family, and our having a way to earn a living which a lot of people don't."
"I'm thankful for my family and our life and health and strength and everything."
"I just want to tell all the people that God bless you for this Thanksgiving, and I hope you spend Thanksgiving with your family."
As for Jim Freeman, he said the following.
“I may get ribbed for playing the brown nose card, but I am very, very thankful that my boss decided to bring me onboard this year here at WVLT.”
