Knox County (WVLT) - If your morning commute takes you down Martin Mill Pike near John Sevier Highway, you may want to consider an alternate route.
Knox County Deputies have closed the 5800 block of Martin Mill Pike due to an overnight accident, and say the road will remain closed until at least 10:00 this morning.
Dispatchers say just before 3:00 this morning, a car ran off the road hitting a power pole clipping it in half.
That accident cut power to nearly 1200 KUB customers in South Knoxville.
The driver of the car was taken to UT Medical Center with only minor injuries.
KUB will have to install a new pole and restring the power lines before the road can be reopened.
