Morristown (WVLT) -- A foster father charged with reckless homicide in connection with the death of his foster son is out on bond the same night his family is receiving friends at the funeral home.
Sources tell Volunteer TV that Kenneth Taylor, 53, of Hamblen County will waive his arraignment on Wednesday.
According to the incident report, Taylor told investigators that 16 year-old Jordan Shelton, a foster child in Taylor's home, attacked him during an argument on Saturday.
The report says Taylor grabbed Shelton by the arm and choked him to the ground.
Shelton died at U.T. Medical Center several hours later.
Shelton's family is receiving friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Manes Funeral Home in Newport.
The funeral is Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Stokely Chapel Church Cemetery.
