Claiborne County Man Nailed in Underage Sex Sting

TAZEWELL, Tenn (WVLT) A Claiborne County man is out on bond tonight after police arrested him in a sting operation.

Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray says Birchel Lynn Bussell, Jr., 35, of Forge Ridge was arrested after attempting to meet an underage girl for sex.

Authorities were tipped off by a woman who found a flier on her car.

That flier allegedly had nude pictures of Bussell on it with e-mail addresses.

Deputies set up a sting, telling Bussell to bring a single red rose, which Sheriff Ray says they also found in his vehicle.

During questioning, deputies say Bussell confessed.

Sheriff Ray says new developments are expected.

This pervert only did 90 days and to top it off his sister lets her daughter spend the night over there without batting an eyelash. I tried to look up the registry and evidently they do not even enforce the offenders to register an address. Hope he doesn't try touching his own niece but who is to say he wouldn't.

I am interested in knowing if his being in the military will help him from receiving the sentence he truly deserves. For some reason I believe it will, and that's not fair to this girl.Come on,do you think this will stop him or any other pervert from doing this again? In a polite way of saying it,dude, you can only do this and walk away with no harm done maybe once, because you got busted. Then your going to try this again when your out to some little girl or boy and something bad will happen.I am a very protective parent,I want my children healthy and happy, and to think for a second that a person like Birchel Lynn Bussell,Jr. would try to come between that had better think again and again. Why don't you Birchel, stay in Iraq or wherever you were, doing whatever you were doing, where you have a Sarg. or Lt. that can keep their eyes on you? We don't need you corrupting our community. Even if the system fails to reveal a sentence that is so deserving, you will answer to a bigger man above.

If Claiborne County Judicial system would put forth half the effort of keeping child sex affenders behind bars ,as they do petty drug affenders, this community would be a much safer and worry free place to raise our childen. It seems violent sex affenders are given only a slap on the wrist ,and returned back out into the community to pray once again on our children.I speak not only for myself ,but for many other parents in the community,we greatly appreciate the countys fight on drugs, but at the same time who is fighting for our childrens safty.

I believe it all would matter in the age difference was she close or near 16,17 or 18 that should be reasonable in a way,but if any younger there is some problem in it,but there are many of adults that get with 16,17,and 18 year olds and they are not in trouble if they have their parents approval and they don't get in trouble so what is the difference in it. It all deppends on the age i believe, also most of these younger girls lead these older men on this way,so the girls are just as guilty.

What kind of person could do this to a child? Apparently, he has some psycological issues that need to be dealt with by a professional, seriously! He shouldn't go free so easily. Our country needs to start making examples out of these "sexual predators". Give him a sentence he will not forget so easily, not just a slap on the wrist and register as a sex offender. That's not justice.
