KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) The Broadway in Knoxville program is coming to an end early next year.
Volunteer TV News has learned that Nederlander Producing Company called the City of Knoxville's Director of Public Facilities to notify them
they will not be returning to Knoxville next season.
According to the written memo issued to Public Facilities Board members, Broadway in Knoxville will cease operation at the end of this year's season in March of 2008.
In the memo, Jack Meyer of Nederlander Producing Co says the Knoxville market had not supported the operation to the extent that it is viable, and the losses have been considerable.
Nederlander is also pulling out of the Asheville, North Carolina market after this season.
