CLAIBORNE COUNTY (WVLT) - A Claiborne County Couple is now facing charges under the new doctor shopping law.
Investigators say 35-year-old Arville Anderson and 28-year-old Helena Anderson took their daughter to four different doctors to get multiple prescriptions for controlled substances paid for by TennCare.
The couple are charged with one count each of conspiracy to fraudulently obtain TennCare benefits.
Mr. Anderson is charged with seven counts of doctor shopping, while Mrs. Anderson is charged with four counts of doctor shopping.
TennCare fraud is a Class E felony carrying a sentence of up to two years in prison per charge.
