Knoxville (WVLT) - A gas leak on Northshore is repaired, paving is done, and heavy traveled roadway opened just before 5:00 p.m.
Just in time for rush hour.
A Knoxville Utilities Board spokesman says an underground gas pipe broke around 1:00 this morning, forcing officials to shut down a part of Northshore Drive between Whitower and Tobler Drive.
KUB said at the time that no one was in any danger from the leak.
About 155 customers lost gas service temporarily during the leak repairs.
KUB was working to relight pilot lights as of 5 p.m.
Knoxville Police spent much of the morning detouring traffic to Kingston Pike or Deane Hill to bypass the work.
