NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that involved a 13-year-old driver.
Safety Department spokesman Mike Browning says the person killed in the crash on Interstate 24 near the state Route 840 interchange early Sunday was 43-year-old Earl Draine of Shelbyville.
Three other people in Draine's car were critically injured.
Witnesses told troopers a sport utility vehicle veered out of control and was T-boned by Draine's car.
Browning says Trooper Michael Martin arrived shortly after the crash and pulled the young driver from the SUV, which had caught fire.
He says there is no provision for 13-year-olds to legally drive.
