HAMPTON, Tenn. (AP) -- A mother and her son have died from their injuries after their house caught fire in East Tennessee.
WJHL-TV in Johnson City reports that the home caught fire about 5 p.m. Monday. The house was fully engulfed when a sheriff's deputy arrived.
Both the mother and the son -- whose age was not available -- were pulled from the home but died of their injuries at a hospital. One firefighter suffered minor injuries after he was struck by a falling rafter.
The names of the victims have not been released. A young daughter who lived in the home was at a friend's house when the fire happened.
