LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Some University of Kentucky students are rallying to protect an eastern Kentucky research and educational forest from logging.
More than 20 students protested outside a UK board of trustees meeting, with drums and signs yesterday.
University officials signaled that they're moving ahead with the controversial research effort.
Beginning next spring, the university is planning to allow corporate logging on about 800 acres of the 15,000-acre forest that was donated to UK in 1923.
