KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) Knoxville firefighters have just declared a stubborn apartment fire at Greentree Village Apartments off Summit Circle in West Knoxville under control.
It's the second time firefighters have battled a fire there in two months, and it appears the fire may have been sparked the same way as last time.
Knoxville Fire Department spokesperson Brent Seymour tells Volunteer TV News that there is plenty of smoke in and around apartment 170, but there was just a little bit of flame.
As was the case at a fire there in October, the fire was hidden in the walls of the apartment and KFD firefighters had to work hard to get to it and extinguish it, according to Seymour.
Seymour says, once again, it appears there was maintenance work going on inside the apartment.
In the October 25th fire, plumbers doing some soldering sparked some insulation leading to a smoky fire there.
Seymour says that appears to be the same cause this time.
Village Green Apartments are located in West Knoxville sandwiched between Interstate 40 and Sutherland Avenue.
