OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- The Nebraska department store where a gunman killed eight people more than two weeks ago will reopen Thursday.
Getting shoppers to come back to the Von Maur store at Omaha's Westroads Mall will be a delicate task for the employees. A spokeswoman says, "There's no perfect answer in a situation like this, and there is no roadmap."
Gunman Robert Hawkins fatally shot eight people December 5th before killing himself.
Customer Rachael Henderson plans to go to the store's reopening, but plans just a quick trip to exchange a purse. She was at the mall on the day of the shooting and the memory still haunts her.
Henderson says Von Maur is her favorite store, so she'll be back again after Thursday, but not until more time passes.
