Police name suspects in Nashville Good Samaritan murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Nashville say Jerry McEwen was fatally stabbed as he tried to intervene in a parking lot purse snatching.

The 54-year-old McEwen, of Nashville, died at a hospital shortly after the incident Tuesday at a Kroger supermarket.

Authorities filed arrest warrants for Robert Williams and Stephanie Lynn Hudson and were seeking the suspects on Wednesday.

The 52-year-old Williams was granted parole from the state prison system in May. He was convicted in Hickman County in 1983 on a charge of assault with intent to murder.

Hudson is 36 and has a 10-year sentence for forgery in Marshall County.
