Police Investigating Death of Newborn Baby

Oak Ridge (WVLT) - Oak Ridge Police are investigating the death of a newborn baby boy.

Police say the full-term infant was born early Thursday morning at a residence in Oak Ridge. Later in the morning, the mother brought the child's body wrapped in a towel to an OB-GYN's office in west Knoxville.

The infant's body was then taken to UT Medical Center.

Police say the infant's mother is a 21-year-old college student who is home for the Holidays.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at UT Medical Center.
