JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Decatur County say the death of a retired factory worker in the Beech River was accidental.
The body of 79-year-old Thomas Hubert Cagle was found in very shallow water Wednesday afternoon, a day after he was reported missing by his family.
Sheriff Roy Wyatt says investigators haven't determined why Cagle was at the river.
His family says Cagle loved to fish, but he had no fishing tackle with him.
Wyatt says Cagle left his wife a note Tuesday afternoon, saying he was going to the store, but didn't return. His car was found late Tuesday night.
