Knoxville (WVLT) – Allegiant Air will suspend service from McGhee-Tyson Airport to Las Vegas beginning at the end of February.
According to Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant’s president and CEO, higher fuel costs are behind the decision.
The last day of service to Las Vegas will be February 25th.
Customers with reservations beyond that date will be contacted by Allegiant and given a full refund.
Allegiant’s first flights from Knoxville began last December and they first flew from Knoxville to Las Vegas on February 15th, 2007.
They will continue to operate flights from McGhee-Tyson to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and the Tampa Bay area.
