Knoxville (WVLT) - Just days before Christmas, a family in the Strawberry Plains area loses their home to fire.
A little after nine Friday evening, Rural/Metro firefighters were called to a home on Wooddale Church Road off of Strawberry Plains Pike for a home on fire.
They say flames were shooting from the windows when the arrived on scene, and they were not able to save the home.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. The homeowners were not at home when the house caught fire.
"Right now, nobody was hurt, no injuries, just structural damage to pretty much about half the home is structurally damaged," said TD Williams from Rural/Metro.
There's no word on what caused the fire, but the fire inspector is investigating.
