Knoxville (WVLT) – Police have confirmed one person has died from injuries he received in a shooting at the West Knoxville Hooters restaurant early Saturday morning.

The victim was Stacey Sherman, 35 of Applegate, Michigan.

Sherman is believed to have been in town with family for the holidays.

A second victim, Kris Key, 24 is a manager at the restaurant.

He was last reported in serious condition early Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile police are still searching for suspect.

It happened just before 1:00 AM Saturday morning when according to investigators, a man in his mid-20s got in an argument with an employee over his tab.

A restaurant manager waved the man’s tab and told him to leave, but after exiting, he pulled out a .40 caliber hand gun and started firing shots at the building.

That's when he struck both Sherman and Key.

Both were taken to the UT Medical Center in critical condition.

The suspect was seen fleeing the restaurant on foot.

He is described as a white male, 6’0 180 lbs with a slender build.

Witnesses say he was unshaven, missing his front teeth, and wearing blue jeans with rhinestones and a black jacket, also with rhinestones.

He also had a backpack with him and was wearing heavy jewelry around his neck.

If you have any information about the shooter, the police ask that you call the KPD tip line at 865-215-2712

I think this is one of the worst things that has happened you cannot even go out to eat without getting shot , my prayers are with the family of the man that was killed and also the manager of the restaurant . I do not know how much this man had had to drink but it sounds like he should have been kicked out way before then I am not saying nothing bad about the bartender I know he has more than 1 customer he has to keep up with and he could not keep up with all the drinks . I pray to God this man has a conscious and comes forward after what he has done and may God be with him I do not see how he could live with himself he has taken a husband and father and family man away from his family and at this time of year can you imagine how this family is going tofeel about the holidays from now on
