Murder suspect returned from Mexico to face charges in E. Tenn child's death

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) -- A man who fled to Mexico with his family has been returned to East Tennessee and charged in the death of his 1-month-old son.

Cleveland police say Daniel Ramirez fled last year with his wife and two other children to Veracruz, Mexico, after he was indicted in December 2006. He was being held in Mexico since his arrest in July.

Ramirez has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of his son, Dylan Ramirez, who died from injuries consistent with shaken-baby syndrome.

Officials say paramedics took Dylan to the hospital July 16, 2006, after the baby had difficulty breathing, and he died a week later.
