LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Snow rang in the new year in Kentucky, especially across the eastern half of the state, where weather forecasters were expecting as much as five to six inches along the Virginia border.
Highway Department spokeswoman Andrea Clifford of Louisville says road crews have been out working throughout much of the eastern half of the state.
For Wednesday, the weather service says more snow and wind are likely for eastern Kentucky with highs around 20 to the mid-20s and lows Wednesday night from near 10 to the mid-teens.
In central regions, there will be a chance of flurries with highs in the mid-20s and lows ranging from 12 to 14.
In western Kentucky, mostly clear conditions are expected with highs in the low to mid-20s and lows in the lower teens.
