Knoxville (WVLT) A bank robbery suspect hailed a taxi cab for his getaway vehicle this afternoon.
But it was a cheap cab fare, because Knoxville police caught him in seven minutes.
Officers say around 1:15 PM, the suspect entered the BB&T Bank on Merchants Drive.
Investigators say he handed the teller a note demanding money.
He fled the scene in a cab which was spotted a short time later on Clinton Highway.
Police spokesperson Darrell DeBusk says right now, it doesn't appear this man is wanted in any other area bank robberies.
The money was recovered, and no one was injured.
