Police arrest man accused of Christmas morning stabbing

Knoxville (WVLT) -- Police have arrested the man they say stabbed a woman on Christmas morning in front of her daughter.

Cornelius Dominic Matthews has been charged with attempted first degree murder.

Investigators say he stabbed Callee Powers in the chest three times while sitting inside a car on Jourolman Avenue.

Powers was taken to UT Medical for treatment.

He daughter, who was in the back seat, was uninjured.

    This man has not heart at all he should have known better than how could he put that little girl through that he deserves to go to prison
