Firey crash in Bell County kills four

INGRAM, Ky. (AP) -- Four people died Sunday in a fiery crash after a car ran into a tree in far southeast Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police say the four were killed early Sunday morning. A state trooper drove up on the flaming 2002 Dodge Neon on Ky. 92 about 25 miles north of the Kentucky-Tennessee state line.

The trooper, Detective Michael Cornett, saw two men and two women inside the burning car. State police say none of the four were wearing seatbelts. Troopers say it appears the car failed to negotiate a turn and slammed into the tree.

State forensic pathologist Dr. Emily Craig was working to identify the bodies. The bodies were taken to Frankfort for examination and identification.
