Bell County, KY (WVLT) - A Bell County Sheriff's deputy and his K-9 are dead after an overnight high speed chase.
WKYT-TV in Lexington identifies the deputy who was killed as Sean Pursifull.
Deputies say the chase started when two juveniles drove off without paying for their gas at a gas station in Harlan county.
Deputies say the two teens moved through Bell County on US Highway 119.
Police say Deputy Pursiful was waiting for them along the road when the suspect's car rammed into his cruiser, killing him and his dog.
The two juveniles were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The teens have been charged with murder and assault on a service animal.
