Knoxville (WVLT) - Heavy rain is causing slick roads and flooding across Knoxville and surrounding counties.
Knoxville 911 dispatchers say by 8:00 this morning, Knoxville Police had responded to 21 accidents, and Knox County Deputies responded to four.
One of those accidents involved a Knox County Deputy who was hit by another vehicle coming the other direction on West Emory Road at Sharp Road in Powell.
That area will be blocked until KUB can repair the power lines.
No one was injured in that accident.
Deputies are reporting flooded roads along Byington-Solway Road.
In Union County, Dispatchers say Highway 61 north of Luttrell is closed because of a jackknifed tractor trailer.
That road is not expected to reopen until later today.
