Blount County (WVLT) -- A candidate for president now has a campaign headquarters in East Tennessee.
On Saturday, nearly 100 peopled flocked to the grand opening on the Ron Paul center, set up by supporters on Lamar Alexander Parkway in Townsend.
According to one of the headquarters volunteer's, they could have set up near a larger city, but locating in the country is symbolic of what the Texas republican stands for.
"I think he represents that very rural setting," said Ton Monroe-Ball, one of the volunteers. "He represents liberty, freedom, people that like peace, privacy, prosperity and constitutional government."
The building happens to be owned by another big Ron Paul backer.
It will be staffed by volunteers and be a place where you can find more information on the campaign and Paul's political beliefs.
