Driver charged after truck hits 7 people, 6 cars at E. Tennessee bar

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Kingsport have charged a man whose truck hit seven people and damaged several cars in the Hog Wild Saloon parking lot.

The driver, 23-year-old Michael Scott Lyons, of Eidson was arraigned Monday on a host of charges that included felony reckless aggravated assault and felony reckless endangerment.

Rebecca Tipton, who is 26, and her 25-year-old sister Pamela Burke remained at Holston Valley Medical Center Monday evening.

The incident at the saloon occurred early Saturday and witnesses said Lyons claimed his accelerator stuck.

Besides the sisters, 7 other people were treated at the hospital and police said a half-dozen vehicles were struck -- the last impact disabling Lyons' truck.
