CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) -- Three crew members have been killed in the crash of a Navy helicopter in a farm field in South Texas.
A fourth person survived but is hospitalized in critical condition.
The Sea Dragon helicopter was on a training mission out of the Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi when a witness says he saw a huge, red fireball and then heard a "giant boom."
The Corpus Christi Caller-Times newspaper reports there was heavy fog at the time and says the first rescuers to reach the scene were hampered by downed power lines. But a spokesman for the Navy says most of the fog appeared to be "low ground fog."
The helicopter was part of the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command.
