Tennessee senator wants statewide ban on pit bulls

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A state senator from East Tennessee wants to ban pit bulls across the state.

Sen. Tommy Kilby has introduced a bill that would make it a misdemeanor to own a pit bull.

Senate Bill 2738 would also define what kind of dog is deemed a pit bull.

Kilby represents Tennessee's 12th district which includes Campbell, Morgan, Rhea, Roane, and Scott counties.
