SUNSHINE?: Commissioners met privately with Bible Park developers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Rutherford County Commissioners have been meeting privately with the developers of a controversial Bible-themed park.

Developers say they have been meeting with commission members both individually and in small groups for months.

It is illegal for two or more government officials to meet to discuss public business in private.

Several commissioners say they did not violate the law because they only listened to presentations.

A spokesman for the Tennessee Coalition for Open Government says only a judge can decide if what they did is illegal but it definitely raises questions.

Neighbors concerned about traffic and noise are opposing the proposed park.
