LAS VEGAS, NV (WVLT) The fire at the Monte Carlo casino in Las Vegas has been contained.
The Las Vegas fire chief says the blaze was completely on the exterior of the building.
At the height of the fire, thick black smoke and flames could be seen coming from the top of the hotel/casino on the facade.
Pictures from CNN affiliate KVBC showed firefighters working near the top of the building, spraying water out of a room toward the flames.
Flaming embers from the roof landed on the bottom of the facade, and caught that on fire.
There were no injuries.
KTNV-TV reported the hotel/casino was evacuated, and "The Strip" was shutdown.
